WAVERLY, Iowa — Two people were arrested Sunday morning after allegedly stealing a vehicle from the Hy-Vee parking lot in Waverly.
According to Waverly police, 41-year-old Brandon Peshel and 35-year-old Jessica Shadlow were charged with second-degree theft after a man reported his car stolen while he was shopping inside the store.
Surveillance video from Hy-Vee captured both suspects entering the vehicle and fleeing the scene. Police later located the stolen car—and the suspects—in Marshalltown, where both were arrested.
Peshel and Shadlow were transported to the Bremer County Jail for their initial court appearance.
Peshel remains in custody due to additional charges stemming from a probation violation, while Shadlow was released on bond and will appear in court at a later date.
