ORLANDO, FL – A Kentucky woman was arrested at Walt Disney World Resort after security found methamphetamine in her possession, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.
Brandi Asher, 37, of London, Kentucky, was stopped on May 20 at Disney’s Ticket and Transportation Center after security officers noticed a suspicious tin can among her belongings. When asked about the contents, Asher allegedly referred to them as “goodies” and “headache powder”, suggesting they were medicine.
Security reported that Asher appeared nervous and asked for the items to be thrown away. When told that wasn’t an option, she tried to place them back in her pocket but was instructed to leave them in the inspection bin until deputies arrived.
An officer on the scene, Lucas Arreguin, reported seeing a white, crystal-like substance and a hollow tube, commonly associated with drug use. A field test confirmed the substance was methamphetamine, totaling approximately 1.5 grams.
According to the arrest report, Asher admitted to being in Orlando with her family and claimed that an unknown person at her hotel offered her the drugs. She stated she believed the meth was in another bag and didn’t realize she had brought it into the park.
Asher was issued a trespass warning from Disney, taken to the Booking and Release Center, and later released on a $5,000 bond. She pleaded not guilty on June 1.
