ST. GEORGE, Utah — A southern Utah man has been arrested and charged with theft and property damage after allegedly stealing multiple items, including a $12,000 Rolex watch, from a gym locker room.
Police identified Braden Cory Beard, 32, as the suspect. Beard was arrested on November 10, though court documents were only recently released.
According to the investigation, on October 14, a patron at Summit Athletic Club reported their Rolex Submariner missing from a locker. The victim stated that the lock had been pried open while they were exercising.
Video surveillance captured a man with black hair and a beard spending an extended time in the locker room. Gym employees later identified the individual as Beard, who was a frequent patron.
Further investigation revealed Beard’s gym check-in times correlated with other thefts at the facility. Management also discovered a social media image showing Beard holding the stolen Rolex.
When questioned by police, Beard initially denied the allegations but later admitted to stealing the Rolex and an additional unreported watch.
Beard now faces theft and property damage charges in St. George. Police continue to investigate whether he may be responsible for other thefts at the gym.
