According to a statement from the police, the suspects were caught while traveling in a tricycle with the stolen phones of various models. They have since confessed to snatching the phones from individuals in villages along the Borno-Adamawa border.

Police spokesperson ASP Nahum Daso stated that the suspects operated in several communities, including Mubi Town, Tashan Alade, Miringa, Kwaya Kusar, and Biu Local Government Area. Following their arrest, the suspects admitted to the crime and will face prosecution once the investigation is complete.

The police are currently working to return the recovered phones to their rightful owners. ASP Daso emphasized the police command’s commitment to ensuring public safety, particularly during the festive season, and urged the public to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activities.
