BOCA RATON, Fla. — A Boca Raton woman was arrested Monday night on allegations of retail theft and fraud, according to local authorities.
The suspect, identified as Jennifer Purnell Griffin, a White female, was taken into custody for retail theft of $750 or more, potentially involving coordination with others, and fraudulent swindle to obtain property valued under $20,000, officials said. The arrest was logged under Report No. 479809 by Agency 32–Boca Raton.
Authorities have not released details about the location of the alleged theft or the method of committing the fraud. Under Florida law, retail theft over $750 or involving multiple participants can be prosecuted as a felony, while swindle or fraud charges depend on the value of property obtained and intent to deceive.
Griffin is expected to appear before a Palm Beach County judge for an initial hearing, where bond conditions and future court proceedings will be determined. Prosecutors will review all evidence, including surveillance footage or witness statements, before deciding whether to formally file charges.
The Boca Raton Tribune will continue to follow this case and provide updates on public safety matters in Boca Raton and surrounding areas.
