Bobby Montgomery Arrested for Attempted Burglary in Jacksonville

Suspect caught carrying knives after multiple break-in reports

JACKSONVILLE — Authorities arrested Bobby Jeremiah Montgomery, 18, early Friday, July 18, after reports surfaced of a man carrying knives and attempting break-ins in the Savannah Drive neighborhood.

Between July 11 and July 15, Jacksonville Police received multiple calls reporting an unknown black male seen carrying two large knives and trying to enter homes in the area. In response, detectives began increased patrols.

Shortly after midnight on July 18, officers spotted Montgomery, dressed in all black, walking through the neighborhood with a knife. He was immediately taken into custody.

Montgomery was charged with Attempted First Degree Burglary and Going Armed to the Terror of the People. He is currently held at Onslow County Jail on a $30,000 secured bond.
