A man, Bobby Jangam, brutally murdered his wife, Reena Rajendra Verma, in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, on May 20, over suspicions of an illicit relationship. After committing the crime, Bobby fled to Mumbai, where he was apprehended just one hour later by Pant Nagar police, thanks to a tip-off from Gujarat Police.
The couple, originally from Mumbai, had relocated to Ahmedabad for work. Reena, aged 25, was found dead at their residence with multiple stab wounds, bruising, and scalp injuries. Bobby, 28, a catering businessman, fled after the crime, but police traced him through his mobile phone as he moved between Lokmanya Tilak Terminus, Mulund, and Ghatkopar.
CCTV footage confirmed Bobby’s movements, and a search led by Pant Nagar police eventually found him in an intoxicated state near a nullah in Ghatkopar. The police arrested him and brought him for questioning, where he admitted to the crime. Bobby claimed that his wife’s suspected affair led to their frequent arguments, which finally triggered the violent act.
After his arrest, Bobby was transferred to Gujarat Police under the relevant murder charges.
