OCALA, Fla. — Two men have been arrested in connection with the theft of two full gas cans from a family-owned food trailer in Ocala, according to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded to the scene on the 2600 block of SW Highway 484 after a woman reported the theft on June 16. Surveillance footage showed three suspects – two men and one woman – arriving around 11:50 p.m. on June 15. One of the men took two red gas cans, valued at around $80, from the back of the food trailer and loaded them into a utility terrain vehicle (UTV) before fleeing the scene.
Authorities quickly identified the suspects due to previous interactions. The driver of the UTV was identified as Bobby Shane Creech, 28, and the individual who took the gas cans was identified as James William Henderson, Jr., 39. The female suspect was not named.
Creech, with prior convictions for grand theft and burglary in Hillsborough County, was arrested on June 17 and later released on a $7,500 bond. He is facing charges of second-degree petit theft and grand theft of a motor vehicle.
Henderson, who has a history of theft convictions in Marion County, was also arrested and remains in jail on a $2,500 bond. He is charged with second-degree petit theft (third or subsequent offense).
Both suspects are scheduled to appear in court on July 22 at 9 a.m.
