JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ill. (KFVS) — Two individuals were arrested Tuesday in connection with a theft at a southern Illinois storage facility.

Bobby W. Cottrill, 47, and Amanda G. Peters, 45, were taken into custody following a search of a residence in the 300 block of Highland Avenue in Fairfield on July 15, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.

The search warrant was part of an ongoing investigation into a burglary at Colonel Pete’s Storage, which began on July 6.

Cottrill faces charges including burglary, theft under $500 with a prior offense, and criminal damage to property. He is currently held at Jefferson County Jail awaiting a pre-trial detention hearing.

Peters remains in custody in Wayne County on unrelated warrants from Wayne and Clay counties. Jefferson County authorities plan to request criminal charges against her through the State’s Attorney’s Office.
