WAYNESVILLE, N.C. — Two individuals were arrested after authorities seized 1.2 pounds of methamphetamine, cash, and a firearm during a search of a Waynesville home on Tuesday, July 22, according to a post from the Waynesville Police Department.

The search warrant was executed at a residence located at 20 Robinson Street, a property police say has been linked to neighborhood disturbances and suspected drug activity for several years.

Police recovered 524 grams (1.2 pounds) of methamphetamine, approximately $8,000 in cash, and a gun during the operation.

The suspects, 52-year-old Bobbie Jo Moore and 68-year-old James Thomas Conner, both of Waynesville, were taken into custody and charged with trafficking methamphetamine.

Both Moore and Conner are currently held at the Haywood County Detention Center on bonds set at $250,000 each.

The Waynesville Police Department said it will provide additional updates as the investigation progresses.
