DESCHUTES COUNTY, Ore. — A 36-year-old transient man accused of stealing multiple vehicles and heavy equipment across the county was arrested Monday by the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office.

Blake Mogan, who has been living in the Sisters area, allegedly admitted to involvement in several thefts between December and February. Authorities say the stolen property included passenger vehicles, heavy construction equipment and public agency vehicles from Bend, Redmond and Sisters.

Mogan was first arrested in Redmond in December after being found operating a construction loader that had been stolen from a nearby job site.

On February 17, deputies located an abandoned and damaged Sisters School District vehicle on Buckhorn Road. Investigators used surveillance footage to identify Mogan, alleging he broke into the district’s transportation office before stealing the car.

Earlier this week, deputies discovered a stolen City of Sisters F450 crane truck on a forest road northwest of Sisters, along with a stolen utility trailer.

According to authorities, Mogan admitted involvement in additional thefts, some of which are under investigation by the sheriff’s office, Black Butte Police Department and Bend Police Department.

He has been charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, burglary, theft, criminal mischief, criminal trespass and driving while suspended. Mogan is also being held on a parole violation detainer related to prior convictions.
