SILVER SPRING, Md. – A Bladensburg man has been arrested and charged with murder and child abuse in the death of a 7-month-old infant he was babysitting.
Incident Details
On September 23, 2024, Terron Christopher Matasaran, 36, was babysitting the infant while the mother was at work.
Matasaran told the child’s mother that the baby had fallen from a bed while he was out of the room.
The mother rushed home, called 911, and performed CPR, but the infant was pronounced dead at the scene.
Autopsy Findings
The medical examiner determined the baby suffered a head injury and rib fractures.
The death was ruled a homicide, contradicting Matasaran’s claims.
Arrest and Charges
On March 4, 2025, Montgomery County Police and U.S. Marshals arrested Matasaran at his workplace.
He is facing charges of murder and child abuse and is being held without bond at the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit.
