Bittu Kumar Nabbed in Rs1 Cr Kolkata Robbery Case

Danapur police arrest repeat offender in Bara Bazar loot

Bittu Kumar alias Ekka, a resident of Daldali Road in Danapur, has been arrested by police in connection with a Rs1 crore robbery from a businessman in Kolkata’s Bara Bazar area.

According to Bhanu Pratap Singh, ASP of Danapur, the daring heist took place on March 4 under the jurisdiction of Bara Bazar police station. During the incident, the businessman was physically assaulted by a group of criminals who fled with Rs1 crore in cash. A case (No. 47/25) was registered under serious robbery charges.

Following intelligence inputs from Kolkata Police, who suspected the accused might be hiding in Danapur, the SSP Patna directed a search operation. Bittu was arrested from his hideout on Daldali Road.

The ASP confirmed that Bittu is a notorious repeat offender, previously jailed in an NDPS (Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances) case. After his arrest, he was handed over to the Kolkata Police and will be taken on transit remand.

The police have reportedly recovered the stolen bag and some amount of cash. Further investigation will be carried out by the West Bengal Police.
