Birmingham Man Tarrence Jennings Arrested After Robbery & Shooting

Suspect Barricaded Himself in Apartment Before SWAT Arrest

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – A Birmingham man, Tarrence Jennings, 30, was arrested this week after allegedly robbing and shooting an acquaintance before barricading himself inside an apartment complex.

Incident Overview
The Birmingham Police Department responded to a robbery and shooting on March 25 in the 2900 block of 12th Avenue North. The victim, who knew the suspect, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and later identified Jennings as the assailant.

Barricade & Arrest
As police followed up on the investigation, they learned Jennings had locked himself inside his apartment. The department’s Tactical Unit responded, leading to his arrest without further incident.

Authorities also discovered that Jennings had an outstanding domestic violence warrant from a previous, unrelated case.

Charges & Detention
Jennings was booked into the Birmingham City Jail on the domestic violence warrant and placed on a 48-hour felony extension as police continue to investigate charges of robbery and felony assault.
