YENAGOA, Nigeria – The Zone 16 Police Command has paraded three suspects in connection with illicit drug trafficking and fraudulent activities.
According to a statement from the zone’s spokesman, SP Gunn Emonena, the Zonal Financial and Cyber Crime unit, acting on credible intelligence, stormed the Rumukparali Community in Obio/Akpo Local Government of Rivers to arrest the suspects.
The suspects, Billion Ndubuisi, Charles Amachree, and Martins Chinemike, are accused of impersonating Ryam Bill, a US-based luminary, and defrauding two victims, St. Andrea and Charlen Zielinsky, of a sum totaling 71,500 US Dollars.
During a search of their premises, law enforcement officials recovered several items including wraps of suspected illicit hemp, two vehicles, two laptops, and 10 mobile phones. The suspects also attempted to bribe the officers with 17,000 US Dollars, which was rejected by the well-trained officers.
The bribe money is documented and will be presented as evidence in court.
The Assistant Inspector General (AIG) of the zone, Adebola Hamzat, emphasized the police’s commitment to protecting citizens and maintaining law and order. Under the leadership of Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, the Nigeria Police Force has reaffirmed its dedication to ensuring the safety of citizens nationwide.
