Bihar STF Busts Heroin Racket Arrests Ankush & Indrajeet

Over 2kg Heroin Seized in Bhojpur; Rs 5 Crore Black Market Value

In a significant anti-narcotics operation, the Bihar Special Task Force (STF) along with Bhojpur police seized over 2 kilograms of heroin valued at approximately Rs 5 crore on the international black market. The joint raid also led to the arrest of two alleged drug peddlers.

Acting on intelligence received on Friday evening, the police launched a crackdown on heroin smuggling from Ghazipur (Uttar Pradesh) to Ara in Bihar. During the operation, a vehicle was intercepted near the Ara Nawada police station area, leading to the seizure of about 1 kilogram of heroin and the arrest of two men on board.

Further investigation and information provided by the arrested suspects resulted in a raid at a house where an additional 1.107 kilograms of heroin was recovered.

The total heroin seized in the operation was 2.107 kilograms. Along with the narcotics, police also confiscated Rs 1,27,490 in cash, four passbooks, four cheque books, an ATM card, PAN card, Aadhaar card, driving license, the vehicle used in the operation, and two mobile phones.

The accused have been identified as Ankush Kumar from Anaith Kurmi locality and Indrajeet Kumar from Anaith Paswan locality, both under the jurisdiction of Ara Nawada police station. Police have also named the owner of the house from which the additional heroin was seized as an accused in the case.

A case has been registered under the Bihar Narcotic Substances (BNS) Act and the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. Authorities have indicated that they will invoke relevant sections of the BNS Act to pursue property attachment linked to the case.
