Bhushan Londhe, 35, son of a former RPI corporator and one of the main accused in an attempted murder case registered with Satpur police, was arrested by Nashik police on Wednesday near Maharajganj in Uttar Pradesh, close to the Indo-Nepal border. His associate, Prince Chitrasen Singh, 36, who was traveling with him, was also apprehended.
The arrest comes nearly three months after the case was filed on September 5. According to senior police officials, Crime Branch Unit 2, led by Assistant Inspectors Hemant Todkar and Samadhan Hire, had been actively tracking Bhushan under the guidance of Police Commissioner Sandeep Karnik, DCP (Crime) Kirankumar Chavan, and ACP (Crime) Sandeep Mitke.
ACP Mitke revealed that Bhushan was nearly caught on November 15 in Badaut, UP, but managed to escape despite sustaining a leg fracture while fleeing. Police later traced his movements between Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh, prompting a separate seven-member team, led by API Samadhan Hire and Sub-Inspector Yashwant Bendkoli, to search in Kotputli, Rajasthan, but the suspects could not be located.
The coordinated efforts ultimately led to Bhushan and his associate being arrested from Maharajganj, marking a significant breakthrough in the ongoing investigation.
