Within 24 hours of the tragic murder of Class XI student Sumit Kumar, Bhojpur Police arrested all three named accused on Tuesday evening.

Jagdishpur SDPO Rajesh Kumar Sharma confirmed that the arrested individuals are Avinash Pandey, Viraj Kumar, and Harish Pandey, all residents of Banahi village under Shahpur Police Station, the same village where Sumit lived. Authorities continue to investigate the exact motive behind the killing.

Sumit, son of Rajiv Pandey, was shot dead early Monday morning. He had returned from Surat, Gujarat, on Sunday night to appear for the BSEB Class XI final examination, which began on Monday.

While police have not officially disclosed a motive, the FIR lodged by Sumit’s grandfather suggests the incident stemmed from an earlier altercation between Sumit and one of the accused. Reports indicate that Sumit had objected to the accused’s alleged indecent behavior toward a female family member, and had subsequently received threats from them.

Sources stated that Sumit’s parents are employed in the private sector in Surat. The investigation is ongoing as authorities seek to uncover the full circumstances surrounding this tragic incident.
