Bargarh, Odisha – Police have detained two minors and arrested a 20-year-old man, Dolamani Nag of Bandentikra, in connection with the murder of 27-year-old Bhimsen Biswal from Tangarpada village. Bhimsen’s body was discovered late Monday night beneath the Jamurda overbridge on the Panichhatar–Jamurda road.
According to SP Prahlad Sahai Meena, Bhimsen was wandering the streets of Bargarh town when the accused saw him stealing from a shop. The trio confronted and questioned him, which led to a heated argument.
“The deceased allegedly provoked the accused, causing a scuffle,” the SP explained. “As Bhimsen started walking away, the group followed and attacked him again. One of the accused then slit his throat with a steel knife, killing him instantly.”
After the murder, the accused fled the scene. Police have recovered the murder weapon and have taken Dolamani Nag into custody, while the two minors are detained for further investigation.
