Bhimavaram One Town Police have arrested P. Victor Paul (23) on Tuesday for injuring a 60-year-old woman and snatching her gold ornaments in a shocking robbery case. The incident occurred in Ammiraju Thota, Bhimavaram, in the West Godavari district.

According to the police, the victim, Yerramasetti Manga Tayaru, and her husband Veera Swamy Naidu were approached by Victor Paul on March 28. The accused introduced himself as a distant relative and sought a portion of their house on rent. After gaining their trust, Paul later claimed that his family members would be visiting to inspect the house.

However, Paul returned to their home and, in a sudden turn of events, attacked Manga Tayaru with a knife, injuring her severely. He then snatched gold ornaments worth approximately 64 grams from her.

Following the assault, Veera Swamy Naidu admitted his wife to a hospital and lodged a complaint with the Bhimavaram Police, which led to a swift investigation. With the help of CCTV footage, the police managed to apprehend Victor Paul in a short time and recover the stolen gold ornaments from his possession.
