SOUTH WINDSOR, Conn. – A Springfield woman has been arrested for her role in two separate retail thefts at a South Windsor Old Navy, police confirmed.
Betzaida Rodriguez-Garay, 39, was taken into custody on Wednesday after being identified as the suspect in a March theft involving $400 worth of merchandise from the Old Navy on Evergreen Way. The arrest was made under an active warrant issued for that incident.
Rodriguez-Garay was processed and brought before Manchester Superior Court on the same day. She was already in state custody on unrelated charges.
Her earlier arrest occurred on May 27, when she turned herself in for stealing $550 worth of items from the same Old Navy store in April. She had been processed and released at that time on a $500 surety bond.
Total Theft Exceeds $900
Combined, Rodriguez-Garay is accused of stealing over $900 worth of merchandise in less than two months from the same retail location.
The South Windsor Police Department continues to investigate the case as part of broader efforts to address organized retail theft.
