BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Bernard Keller, 27, of Hamburg, a registered sex offender, has been arrested on new federal child pornography charges, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
Keller is accused of distributing and possessing suspected child sexual abuse material using the messaging app Kik. A search warrant executed in May reportedly uncovered the illicit files on a cell phone, following an earlier report made to state police in March.
At the time of his arrest, Keller was already serving a 10-year probation sentence stemming from a prior child pornography conviction. That earlier case, which also involved the use of Kik, dated back to 2017 and 2018. Keller was sentenced in 2022 and placed on the New York State Sex Offender Registry.
He now faces federal charges of receipt, distribution, and possession of child pornography .
