Bennie Fleming Arrested for Three Weekend Burglaries in Beloit

Community tips lead to arrest after late-night crime spree

BELOIT, Wis. — A weekend crime spree involving three late-night burglaries ended with the arrest of 34-year-old Bennie Fleming, Beloit police reported.

The first burglary occurred around 11:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 26, in the 1700 block of Madison Road. Approximately 30 minutes later, a second burglary was reported in the 800 block of Fourth Street. The third incident happened around 12:30 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 28, in the 1100 block of Liberty Avenue.

Thanks to valuable tips from the community and persistent police work, Fleming was arrested around 10 p.m. on Sunday.

Beloit Police Captain Eberhardt praised both the public and the patrol division for their efforts, stating, “The weekend may have been busy, but thanks to teamwork, this mini crime spree is officially canceled.”

Fleming faces three counts of burglary as the investigation continues.
