Rock County — A drug investigation in Rock County led to the seizure of large quantities of narcotics and the arrest of a Janesville man, authorities said.
According to the Rock County Sheriff’s Office, deputies executed a drug search warrant around 1:30 a.m. Sunday at a residence in the 5300 block of South Baxter Lane in the Town of Rock.
During the raid, officers arrested Benjamin B. Puentes, 44.
Investigators reported discovering significant amounts of drugs and other items inside the home, including 77.59 grams of cocaine, 20.88 grams of cocaine base, 614.54 grams of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), and 30.12 grams of psilocybin. Authorities also seized $38,765 in cash, three firearms, and rifle-rated body armor.
Puentes now faces multiple charges, including possession with intent to deliver more than 40 grams of cocaine, possession with intent to deliver 200–1,000 grams of cocaine, possession with intent to deliver 200–1,000 grams of THC, possession with intent to deliver less than 100 grams of psilocybin, maintaining a house for drug trafficking, and felon in possession of a firearm.
Authorities said Puentes is scheduled to appear in jail court Tuesday afternoon as the case moves forward.
