EL PASO, Texas – A 61-year-old man was arrested Thursday after being wanted for nearly a decade on child support charges, the El Paso Constable Office Precinct Three reported.
Benjamin Mata was taken into custody following the execution of a warrant related to over $17,000 in unpaid child support. The warrant was originally issued in April 2016.
Deputies say Mata had been evading law enforcement since the warrant was issued but was finally apprehended on the 200 block of Carnes Road near Alameda Avenue in the Lower Valley.
Mata was booked into the El Paso County Jail downtown with a bond set at $3,000.
