Bengaluru police arrested Shamshuddin, a man from Assam, on Monday for allegedly murdering his lover, Asha, a mother of two, and disposing of her body in a garbage truck.
The victim’s body was discovered on Sunday, concealed in a gunny bag inside a garbage truck under the jurisdiction of Channammanakere Achukattu police station.
Following a swift investigation and analysis of CCTV footage, authorities identified and arrested Shamshuddin.
Police revealed that Asha, a single mother employed by a private company, had met Shamshuddin at work. The two developed a relationship and were living together in the Hulimavu area.

This tragic incident adds to a series of disturbing crimes related to domestic disputes in Bengaluru.
Earlier in June, a software professional stabbed his married lover, Harini, 17 times in a hotel room after tensions escalated over her husband’s suspicions.
In a similarly shocking case last September, Mahalaxmi, a single working woman, was brutally killed and dismembered by her lover, Mukthiranjan Roy, who later died by suicide near a crematorium in Odisha.
