Bengaluru police have arrested a 38-year-old man for allegedly robbing a cab driver at knifepoint on Friday night. The accused, identified as Manzoor Abdul Basith, also known as Dhoond, is a resident of Shivajinagar.

The victim, KV Pradeep (29) from Mysuru, filed a complaint stating that Manzoor booked a trip from the Mysuru bus stand to Shivajinagar for Rs 3,000. The ride was uneventful until they reached Shivajinagar around 9:30 PM. Manzoor requested an extra trip to Thanisandra, claiming his sister lived there, and agreed to pay additional charges.

According to Pradeep, upon reaching a dimly lit area in Thanisandra, Manzoor allegedly pulled out a knife, attacked him, and forced him out of the cab. He then fled with the vehicle, Rs 3,000 in cash, and Pradeep’s mobile phone.

Police traced the stolen cab and apprehended Manzoor on Saturday afternoon, recovering both the cab and the mobile phone. Investigations are ongoing.
