Belynda Constant Arrested for Elderly Client Theft

Home health aide accused of stealing $3K at retirement community

A home health aide from Bridgeport has been arrested for allegedly stealing thousands of dollars from an elderly client at a retirement community in New York.

According to the Rye Brook Police Department, Belynda Constant, 40, was taken into custody Thursday and charged with first-degree identity theft and fourth-degree grand larceny.

Police said Constant was employed as a home health aide for a resident at The Atria, a retirement community in Rye Brook. During her employment, investigators allege she stole approximately $3,000 from the elderly client.

Authorities said Constant was arraigned Thursday following her arrest and is currently being held at the Westchester County Department of Correction.

The investigation remains ongoing as officials continue to review the circumstances surrounding the alleged theft.
