Bellare police have arrested Unmesh, who had been absconding for over five years in connection with a long-pending theft case. The accused was traced and apprehended in Kerala following a sustained manhunt.

Unmesh was wanted in Crime No. 56/2020 registered at Bellare police station under Sections 457 and 380 read with 34 of the Indian Penal Code, related to housebreaking and theft. Despite repeated court summons, he failed to appear, leading to the issuance of a non-bailable warrant.

Acting on credible intelligence, the police tracked him down in Kerala and took him into custody. Unmesh was produced before the court on August 17 and has been remanded to judicial custody.

Officials said this arrest underscores their commitment to resolving pending cases and ensuring long-evading accused face justice.
