A 63-year-old man, Michael Cooper, is facing charges after allegedly firing a gun at an apartment complex in Bell County. The incident occurred on Sunday at the Ferndale Apartment Complex in the Ferndale community.
Deputies responded to the scene after receiving a report of the shooting. Upon arrival, they were able to identify Cooper as the suspect. He eventually came out of his home after a call from a neighbor, and police took him into custody. Authorities noted that Cooper appeared to be intoxicated at the time of his arrest.
Police later reviewed video footage of the incident, which showed Cooper aiming a firearm at the building across from his home before it discharged. Cooper has been charged with first-degree wanton endangerment – discharge of a firearm. He is currently being held at the Bell County Detention Center.
