Delhi Police have arrested Bazid Khan (24), a proclaimed offender wanted in a narcotics case, from Morbi, Gujarat. Khan, a resident of Shahjahanpur, Uttar Pradesh, had been evading arrest since May 2023 and was declared a proclaimed offender by a Delhi court in February 2024. A reward of Rs25,000 had been announced for information leading to his capture.
Khan was wanted under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act in a case registered by the Delhi Police Crime Branch.
His name emerged during the interrogation of Imran Khan alias Sahil, who was arrested last year with 269 grams of contraband. Imran identified Bazid as his narcotics supplier, prompting police to launch an extensive search.
Initial raids in Shahjahanpur and Bahraich failed to locate Khan. Eventually, his presence was traced to Morbi, Gujarat.
A Delhi Police team reached Gujarat on May 15 and conducted several coordinated raids. On May 18, after sustained surveillance, Bazid Khan was successfully apprehended.
Further investigation is underway to uncover more links in the drug trafficking network.
