CHICAGO — A 28-year-old man wanted for a deadly drunk driving crash in Wisconsin has been arrested in Chicago’s Pilsen neighborhood, officials confirmed Thursday.
Basilio Garcia-Jarquin was taken into custody without incident by the Cook County Sheriff’s Fugitive Apprehension Unit and the U.S. Marshals Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force. He had been on the run since a fatal crash on December 31, 2023, in Milwaukee, where he now faces multiple felony charges, including Homicide by Intoxicated Use of a Vehicle.
Authorities say investigators tracked Garcia-Jarquin to a residence in the 4100 block of West 25th Place, where he was arrested.
He is currently being held at Cook County Jail and is awaiting extradition to Wisconsin to face prosecution.
