In a major crackdown on illegal drugs, Bargarh town police seized more than 20 kilograms of ganja and arrested three individuals early Wednesday morning.
The arrested suspects have been identified as Hakam Singh Lodhi (38), Lakhendra Singh (29), and Papu Singh (35), all hailing from Damoh district in Madhya Pradesh.
According to police reports, a team led by Sub-Inspector Pratima Dungdung intercepted the suspects near the Jeera river bridge during a routine patrol at around 5:30 am. A raid was subsequently conducted in the presence of an executive magistrate, which resulted in the recovery of a plastic bag containing 20.2 kg of ganja.
Police also confiscated two mobile phones and Rs 700 in cash from the accused during the operation.
