In a swift operation on Friday, Bargarh police seized 50 grams of brown sugar and arrested three alleged drug peddlers during a raid near Ghulipali Chhak, under the Town police limits.
According to police sources, the suspects were intercepted while arriving at high speed on a two-wheeler from Sambalpur. Along with the narcotics, police recovered two mobile phones, Rs 1,400 in cash, and the vehicle used by the accused.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Gobardhan alias Gobu Mallick (35), Narsingha Bhue (32), and Nikhil Sindria (22), all residents under Bargarh Town police jurisdiction.
The police are continuing their investigation to trace the origin of the drugs and identify any wider network involved.
