In a successful operation, Baramulla Police arrested a man involved in a theft case and recovered a stolen scooty. On April 29, 2025, Police Station Uri received a written complaint from Altaf Ahmad Lone, a resident of Uri, who reported that his scooty, bearing registration number JK05N-5492, was stolen from near his residence during the intervening night of April 28/29.
Following the complaint, a case under FIR No 45/2025 was registered, and the police initiated an investigation. CCTV footage from the area was collected and analyzed by the investigation team, which eventually led them to Gulzar Ahmad Parray, a resident of Balkote.
After sustained questioning, Gulzar Ahmad Parray confessed to his involvement in the theft. The police then arrested him and, upon his disclosure, recovered the stolen scooty from his possession. The investigation is ongoing, and further legal proceedings are expected.
