Baramulla Police Arrest Shabir Umer in Rs5L Wire Theft Case

Stolen property recovered in 48 hrs; vehicles seized

Police in Baramulla swiftly cracked a theft case within 48 hours, arresting two individuals and recovering stolen property worth Rs5 lakhs.

On June 3, 2025, Police Station Pattan received a complaint from Mohammad Amin Dar, a subcontractor with Lumino Industries Ltd. He reported that Dog Conductor (wire) was stolen from a work site in Mamoosa during the night of June 2–3.

An FIR (No. 99/2025) was registered, and investigation began immediately. Using a combination of technical and human intelligence, officers identified the vehicles involved in the crime.

The accused arrested were:

Shabir Ahmad Tabardar, son of Ali Mohammad Tabardar, resident of Singhpora

Umer Nabi Khanday, son of Gh. Nabi Khanday, resident of Zangam

Based on their confessions, police recovered the stolen conductor wire and also seized the vehicles used during the theft.

Further investigation into possible accomplices or related incidents is currently underway.
