Balwinder Singh Arrested in $28K Online Scam Case

Yuba City man accused of targeting elderly victim online

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — A Yuba City man, Balwinder Singh, has been arrested in connection with an alleged online scam that defrauded an elderly victim of approximately $28,500.

According to the Sacramento Police Department, the incident occurred last month and involved deceptive online communications. Following a detailed investigation, detectives identified 36-year-old Singh as the primary suspect.

Singh was taken into custody on September 17 and is now facing multiple felony theft charges related to the scheme.

In a public advisory, the Sacramento Police Department reminded residents to stay vigilant: “Always verify who you are communicating with and never send money to an unknown or untrusted source.”
