CELKINS, W.Va. — A Baltimore woman, 35-year-old Giancoli, was sentenced May 29 to 150 months in federal prison for supplying fentanyl to drug dealers in West Virginia, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of West Virginia announced.
Court documents revealed Giancoli and her co-defendant, Michael Matthews, operated from their Baltimore apartment, distributing fentanyl to more than 10 dealers in Grant County, West Virginia. Investigators seized nearly 9,000 fentanyl pills weighing over two kilograms during the investigation.
Following her prison term, Giancoli will serve three years of supervised release. Matthews, who previously pled guilty, was sentenced to 100 months.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Stephen Warner, with the Potomac Highlands Drug Task Force leading the investigation.
