Police have solved the shocking murder of a liquor shop bouncer, identifying a revenge-fueled conspiracy involving four individuals, including alleged mastermind Balaram Barik.
The crime, which took place in Sinkhaman village under Balangir Sadar police limits, stemmed from a suspected extramarital affair between liquor shop manager Vishal Ranjan and Balaram’s wife.
According to Additional SP Alok Jena, Balaram, furious over the alleged relationship, enlisted Arta Chinda, Sunil Bag, and Sanjeev Barik to confront and attack Vishal. On the day of the planned assault, Vishal avoided the meeting and sent Sarada Yadav, a bouncer, in his place.
Tragically, Sarada was attacked with sticks by the four accused, who were reportedly intoxicated at the time. He died on the spot, making him the unintended victim of a murder meant for someone else.
Police have arrested all four men and presented them in court. Weapons used in the attack, a motorcycle, and two mobile phones have been recovered.
Investigations are ongoing, but authorities believe the murder was clearly premeditated, driven by personal motives and poor judgment under the influence of alcohol.
