Bakersfield Police Seize Cocaine, Firearm in Traffic Stop

Officers Arrest Erick Mungarro, Marco Lopez-Numez on Narcotics Charges

Bakersfield, CA – On March 1, 2025, at approximately 5:00 a.m., a Commercial Enforcement Officer from the Bakersfield Police Department conducted a traffic stop after observing an 18-wheeler violating vehicle codes in the 3400 block of Wible Road.

Following a thorough investigation with the assistance of the Impact Team and Narcotics Unit, officers discovered a firearm and 12 pounds of suspected cocaine inside the vehicle.

Two suspects were arrested in connection with the discovery: 39-year-old Erick Mungarro and 21-year-old Marco Lopez-Numez. Both face charges related to narcotics sales and firearm possession.
