On Thursday, Bag Sewania Police in Bhopal arrested two individuals, including a woman, for stealing mobile phones in the city. The suspects, Kamlesh Modi (22) and Kajal Modi (27), both residents of Katni, traveled to Bhopal by train with the intent to steal mobile phones and laptops.
The duo targeted residential colonies in the morning, identifying houses with open doors. They would then sneak inside, quickly steal mobile phones, and leave without being noticed. After each theft, they would return to Katni either by train or bus to avoid drawing suspicion.
Following their arrest, the police recovered 16 stolen mobile phones, valued at Rs 2.70 lakh. The accused confessed to stealing six mobile phones from Bag Sewania, two from Govindpura, and eight from other areas of the city.
A search operation is ongoing to apprehend other members of the gang involved in the thefts.
Authorities have commended the quick response of the Bag Sewania Police in cracking the case and recovering the stolen items.
