The Anti-Corruption Bureau Ajmer arrested Babulal, a superintendent engineer with Ajmer Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited, for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 50,000.
Officials stated the arrest followed a trap operation conducted by the ACB’s Ajmer unit. The complainant alleged that Babulal demanded Rs 2.10 lakh in exchange for issuing work orders.
According to ACB Director General Govind Gupta, a partial settlement of Rs 2 lakh had been agreed upon, and Babulal was apprehended while accepting the initial Rs 50,000 payment. Investigations into the larger bribery network and related work orders are ongoing.
The case highlights the ACB’s continued efforts to curb corruption in public utility departments and ensure transparency in government operations.
