In a significant breakthrough, Delhi Police have arrested a key suspect in a high-profile burglary case that took place in Delhi’s Sagarpur area. The accused, identified as Babloo (32), was apprehended from Badipura village in Ozhar, Barwani district, Madhya Pradesh, marking a crucial development in an ongoing investigation into an organized interstate theft ring.
The arrest follows a case registered on April 17, when the complainant, Varun Garwal, reported that his home had been ransacked. The burglars had stolen approximately 500 grams of gold, silver items, and Rs50,000 in cash, breaking locks on all floors and storage units in the house.
According to DCP Surendra Choudhary, a team led by SHO Sagarpur and ACP Delhi Cantt used technical surveillance and CCTV footage to trace a stolen motorcycle involved in the burglary to the Mayapuri area. This led them on a multi-state trail that ended in Ojhar village, MP.
Despite resistance from locals during the raid, the police team successfully arrested Babloo, who confessed to the crime. During the operation, officers recovered 94 grams of gold jewelry, specialized housebreaking tools, and modified scissors used as improvised keys.
Police also revealed that Babloo’s accomplices — reportedly his relatives — are absconding. These individuals are wanted in multiple theft and burglary cases across Maharashtra and Gujarat.
Babloo has a known criminal record, including a case under the Arms Act filed by Gujarat Police. He was previously booked in 2021 under the Arms Act by Delhi’s Special Cell.
Efforts are underway to track down the remaining suspects and recover the rest of the stolen property.
