Ayesha Khanum Killed by Drunk Truck Driver in Bengaluru

In a tragic incident on Monday night, 30-year-old Ayesha Khanum, a private company employee from BK Nagar in Mathikere, was killed after a cement-mixer truck ran over her near Bhadrappa Layout bus stop in Sanjaynagar, Bengaluru.

The accident occurred around 9 PM while Ayesha was returning home from work in Yelahanka on her two-wheeler. Eyewitnesses reported that the truck, driven recklessly, struck her vehicle from behind. She fell and was crushed under the truck’s wheels, resulting in instant death.

The truck driver, identified as Dilip Kumar, a native of Odisha, was immediately apprehended by police. Subsequent medical tests confirmed that he was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident.

Sanjaynagar police have arrested the driver, and a case has been registered under relevant sections of the IPC and Motor Vehicles Act, including those pertaining to drunk driving and causing death by negligence.

Authorities have urged drivers to act responsibly and reminded citizens of the severe consequences of driving under the influence.
