Awantipora Police Arrest Drug Peddler with Charas Near Padgampora Crossing

120 grams of Charas recovered from suspect in Awantipora area

Awantipora Police have continued their drive against drug trafficking with the arrest of a drug peddler in the Awantipora area. The arrest occurred during naka checking at Padgampora Crossing, under the supervision of SHO PS Awantipora.

The arrested individual has been identified as Nazim Ahmad Mir, son of Ab Hamid Mir, a resident of Kawani. The police apprehended him after he was found moving in suspicious circumstances. A search of his person led to the recovery of 120 grams of Charas-like substance, which was wrapped in maize husk and shaped into sticks.

A case, FIR Number 100/2025, has been registered against Nazim Ahmad Mir under the relevant sections of the NDPS (Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances) Act at Police Station Awantipora. The police are continuing their efforts to curb drug trafficking in the region.
