HATTERAS, N.C. (WAVY) – A 34-year-old woman, Autumn L. Smith, was arrested on Friday evening after deputies responded to reports of shoplifting in the Hatteras area, according to the Dare County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies were dispatched around 8:20 p.m., and upon reviewing security footage, they took Smith into custody. She was charged with the following offenses:
Felony possession of marijuana
Shoplifting concealment of goods
Misdemeanor larceny
Smith was booked into custody and issued a $7,500 secured bond.
Authorities have not released further details on the stolen items or the store involved. The investigation remains ongoing.
