Franklinton, LA (WVUE/Gray News) — A mother from Franklinton, Louisiana, has been arrested on charges of first-degree murder after allegedly beating her 8-month-old child to death.
Autumn Hano Harper, 24, was booked into Washington Parish Jail on Wednesday following the tragic death of her son, identified as Sterling Rogers. Authorities were alerted to the case when the infant was brought to Riverside Medical Center with severe injuries, including broken bones and multiple healing fractures.
The baby was airlifted to Children’s Hospital but tragically passed away from his injuries on Monday. Following an investigation, detectives identified Harper as the primary suspect after interviewing witnesses.
Harper is currently being held without bond, and Franklinton police have stated that the investigation remains ongoing.
