GALLIA COUNTY, Ohio – A 25-year-old man from Thurman, identified as Austin Wayne McQuiad, was arrested Saturday morning in connection with an overnight theft spree targeting multiple businesses in Springfield Township, according to the Gallia County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded to several reports of stolen property early Saturday and launched an investigation. McQuiad was taken into custody without incident, officials said.
A search warrant was executed shortly after his arrest, during which numerous stolen items were recovered and returned to their rightful owners.
McQuiad has been charged with theft, and the sheriff’s office indicated that additional charges may be forthcoming as the investigation continues.
