Austin Riley Richard Arrested for Car Theft, Crash in Jackson Co.

Tecumseh man charged in Chevy Impala theft, wreck, and more

JACKSON COUNTY, Kan. (WIBW) – A 23-year-old man from Tecumseh, Kansas, has been arrested in connection with the theft and crash of a stolen vehicle on Thursday, May 22.

According to Sheriff Tim Morse, Jackson County deputies arrested Austin Riley Richard around 5 p.m., following a day-long investigation into a stolen Chevy Impala reported missing earlier that morning from a residence on the 25000 Block of T. Road, north of Holton.

The stolen vehicle was located before noon on 334th Road, east of U. Road, after it lost control and crashed into nearby timber.

Investigators linked Richard to the incident and took him into custody. He was booked into the Jackson County Jail on multiple charges, including:

Felony theft

Criminal damage to property

Three counts of aggravated violation of the registered offender act

The Brown County Sheriff’s Office and the Kickapoo Police Department assisted in the investigation and arrest.
