Detroit “Bridgerton” Ball Leaves Fans Feeling Scammed
Fans of Netflix’s popular show Bridgerton were left disappointed and out hundreds of dollars after attending a “Bridgerton-Themed Ball” in Detroit over the weekend. The event, initially billed as a grand Regency-era ball, promised an “evening of sophistication, grace, and historical charm,” complete with a $2,000 cash prize for the best-dressed attendee, classical music, and theatrical performances.
However, attendees were quick to voice their frustrations after the event, which was rescheduled from its original date of August 25 to September 22, failed to deliver on any of these promises. Instead, guests found themselves at an underwhelming event that featured a single exotic dancer performing to violin music, a bare-bones venue with minimal decor, and a dinner that reportedly ran out within an hour, with some of the food allegedly served raw.
Photos and videos shared by attendees show a sparsely decorated room at the historic Harmonie Club in Detroit, where fans dressed in elegant Regency-style costumes were left standing in confusion. Many described the decorations as cheap and unfinished, with centerpieces lacking floral arrangements and a generally underwhelming atmosphere.
Uncle N Me LLC, the organizer of the event, acknowledged the backlash in a statement to 7 News Detroit, saying, “We understand that not everyone had the experience they hoped for at our most recent event” and are “working diligently to address all concerns.” Importantly, the ball had no official affiliation with Netflix or the Bridgerton series.
